Mayawati is an epitome of corruption, venality and pursuit of vaulting ambition and this obsession with scarring the landscape with her own statues is a typical example of her pathetic record of governance. The squandering of public resources on such an unprecedented scale, when essential priorities in health and education are so woefully neglected deserves unqualified condemnation. Our politico cultural traditions do not tolerate commemorations of the living.- Does Ms. Mayawati rose to power because of the political failure of the Congress ?

It is due to that to some extent., But her main power comes from the voters ( maily dalit ) who think that being a dalit herself she would favour them elections/voting has been either caste based or money based in out MAHAN country right from the first elections it is the same situation in up as in chennai money power and false,emptry promises which naive voters take to be as true and binding on the candidate
