Each job has four components - Knowledge, Skill, Attitude and Judgement. Make a matrix against these compoents. What knowledge this job requires? What skills are required and so on?
Ask your manager what is the difference among - Good Job, Very Good Job and Excellent Job.
Job clarity can only improve your performance. In addition to this, you need to have sufficient infrastructure to execute the job. Secondly, your company culture is also equally improtant.
