ADO stands for ActiveX Data Objects. ADo is a next generation interface for data objects aiming to get rid of Data Access Objects and Remote Data Objects. ADO is aimed at providing access to a wide variety of data, including web pagesm spreadsheets, etc compared to RDO and DAO that are meant for accessing relational database. Under Microsoft's Universal Data Access (UDA) consists of DB, OLE and ODBC.
