Q.

I want to change my home branch from one branch to other keeping the account number same. I have given instruction for online transfer of fund with the existing branch address with MICR code. Change of home branch will affect the online transfer or it will be linked to the new branch address automatically since the account number is same.

I had an account with ICICI bank in one metro. When I moved to another metro city within India, I just changed my home address in the bank's contact records. I did not find any need to change the branch.
I ofcourse opened a separate account in nearby bank for all the newer things like salary and other things. Maintained older account for 3-4 years and then got it closed...
