Out of 4 main Tamil kingdoms, 3 of them were the most ancient. Tamil is one of the oldest language in the world. It is the first languge into which great epics have been rewritten. The sheer volume and quality of Tamil literature is matchless. It is the only known language in India in which a verb is not mandatory in forming a sentence. Probably the first language to have a coherant grammer in Agathiyam predating Panini. Sangam Tamil Literature predates Christ and still extant for their incomparable beauty and composition.
