Former West Indian captain Sir Garfield Sobers, one of the greatest all-rounders in the world, labelled Indian leg-spinner Subhash Pandharinath Gupte (nicknamed Fergie) the best leg-spin bowler he had ever seen or faced. Gupte was born in the city of Mumbai (then Bombay) in the western Indian state of Maharashtra on December 11, 1929 and died at the age of 72 in the city of Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago (where he migrated) on May 31, 2002.

I am not certain though, he may be Subhas Gupte. Later Gupte domiciled in WI. His brother Baloo Gupte also played a few test matches for India.
