Q.

I think Sharad Pawar should now push for the name of Sangma to be President.
If not accepted by UPA then Sharad Pawar should offer his own candidature. What you think?

Sharad Pawar could not spread his name across India. He is known as a powerful lobbyist for the sugar business. The relation between Mr. Sangma and Sharad Pawar grew because of their common anger against the main Congress Establishment. The ambitions of both were so much throttled that they had to come out of Congress and form N.C.P. Other than this common factor and that both of them are trying to promote their own children in Indian Politics, their areas of politicking are completely independent. So, why Mr. Pawar would push forward Mr. Sangma's name is not understandable unless and of course he is in a position to upset the Congress plan. The person who could never come out of Maharashtra is not capable of upsetting the Congress plan. And thinking of him as Presidential candidate is a little too much. His only two ambitions are working . 1. To keep hold on Maharashtra affairs with the aid of Congress and to take care of his daughter turned politician's future.

I don't think he will want the president post because not much transaction of enormous money involved in the work of a president. He will look for more greener pastures where he can embezzle money and gain personally.
