..in the bad old days, the computers without internet connections were used as glorified typewriters and for complex calculations, and were surely liked by every one who used them.
Even today there is no better alternative for those functions.

Computer without internet can use paint brush, play few games, do R&D with softwares, but to know whats latest in computers, R&D with any medical word(my profession in healthcare) internet is must. Can manage without internet depending on various books and knowledge/game, etc. CDs available in market. But would miss chat rooms, mails from distant friends and relatives, etc.

Guru Ramdev has planned a Rs 100-crore dream project, Patanjali Yog Peeth, at Bahadrabad, about 20km from Haridwar. According to him, "It will catapult Yoga and Ayurveda to its zenith, and lead to mental, spiritual and physical development of people". To be completed in three years, it is an ambitious project with a Yoga university, a naturopathy department which can handle 1,000 patients at a time, a residential complex for patients, a hall for 5,000 people to practise Yoga and the worlds largest hospital ward to treat 5,000 patients a day.
