Yes I think it's true. I have in fact changed my view of someone from my initial impression only to later reverse it again and conclude that my first impression was the correct one ! As to whether someone has changed their impression about me I don't really know. I suspect they have, because I once stayed overnight in a hotel with 2 other female friends because we were attending a show far from home, we had dinner in the evening and one said she had seen different side to me and that I was not as "serious" as she always thought I was - which made me wonder !!

First impression may leave an impression but need not be always true. When you meet some one or when you are in contact with some one, we form an impression in our mind based purely on words spoken or exchanged or if person to person, than by what that person wants to really convey by body language, postures, dressing sense and generally the way they carry themselves. It is our "first look" at a personality. My experience in life has been (having learned based on numerous exposures to such situations) is that, just take in a general impression and never come to a conclusion at this stage. Lot of us are different than what we may appear to be at first contact. It is from our continued association or their association with us that, we learn about each other. As we probe into each other more closely by continous interaction, the good and the bad tumble out in whatever measure that person holds it in himself or herself. It is then, we come to a level where we can now sit down and make an a ...more

I dont have to think twice, when i answer this......the first hunch, gut feeling,impression.....call it what one may.........is certainly the actual, the last, the true one.............it may grow into somethying better, bigger, healthier, worse, more sinister,or more scary........but the basic elements assessed the first time would remain....without a speck of doubt.

Its an old saying to make good presentation. But not always & ultimately true. I have seen many and experienced myself too dat we can or anyone can make their impression good or bad. I mean can change their impression in any mode of life.

Yes, it is generally said that 'first impression is the last impression,....' but then it is said too." what that glitterrs is not all gold....." but gold is gold always, whether the reality is shown much later.

yes, many times i have changed opinion about others, and vece-versa...... I speak less, and keep things to myself, so mostly, i am taken as an arrogant person, which i am not......but later when people interact with me, they get to know me with time, and change their opinion about me.....

We are all placed in grooves not necessarily as a result of first impressions but not much research is being done on individuals before placing them in these grooves. Individuals change their attitudes towards life but people will still place them in the grooves that they were originally placed. This more or less talks the same language as your question.
