Any banking or financial services related mutual fund like, Reliance banking, JM Financial Service sector fund or Standard Chartered Premier Equity fund ..... whose returns are the best amongst 194 funds as on Jan 31, 2008 as per my knowledge

2 years is too short a time for Equities and becomes very risky. You need to give enough time for the Equity fund/ Equity to grow to give you back reasonable returns. Seeing by the timeframe i suggest dont get into equities due to very short timeframe. Invest in long term debt funds to earn reasonable returns (10-12%).

Preferably MFs or IPOs. If its MFs, 10,000 each in 5 best mutual funds, Reliance Powersector, SC Premier, 1 of the midcap, 1 small cap, 10000 in high risky like Tauras MF. Make sure u invest when Market is a bit down, before budjet
