The quest for international hair-care brands is getting stronger for Indian fast-moving consumer goods companies, with Marico following Godrej's steps in the overseas market.

Marico has entered the hair-styling market in Malaysia by acquiring Code 10, a Colgate-Palmolive owned brand, for an estimated Rs 28 crore.

This is Marico's fourth acquisition in the last three years. With sales of Rs 14 crore, Code 10 is Malaysia's third largest hair care brand with products like creams and gels.

In the last four years, Godrej had acquired Kinky and Rapidol hair-colouring brands in South Africa.
