I have just been re reading the book - MAHARAJA ,by Diwan Jarmani Dass an interesting book on the lives , loves and intrigues of the Maharajas of India.. I find the eccentricity and amorousness of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala , in the book vividly -How his progeny feel about these ?

I reas this book and one other on this topic knowing the luxurious lives enjoyed by those maharaja and intricacies of palaces.specially maharaja of patiala was very attractive about maharaja bhupender singh of patiala.

However best the book may be I think there must be some glorification of the lives of Maharajas in general and the maharaja in the court of whom this author was a Dwan.because for them the history of India is only that of Maharajas and their queens and not that of common people.The common peoples lives were never pictured vividly by these Diwans.I feel personally bad to imagine the life of the common people during those days.
