You can trade only through a Broker, who will give you a trading terminal (internet trading facility. You cannot trade NSE or BSE directly. To do that, you need to take a membership of these exchanges which easily will cost upwards of Rs.3 crores.

The public cannot trade on these exchanges directly. All the transactions have to be through some dealer. Consult the leading NSE dealers like India Bulls, Share Khan, Motilal Oswal, India Infoline, Geojit Financial Services, etc. They will provide you the internet-trading facility. Regards, Sunil M S

You can apply for SBI 3 in 1 A/c, i.e. Savings cum Demat cum NetBanking.
Log on at http://demat.sbi.co.in/. They've a corporate tie up with Motilal Oswal Ltd (MOSL) wo are providing trading s/w. The transaction rates are very low. And the demat a/c comes with no cost. Means - ITS FREE!
