Try to get the largecaps from these sectors, as most of them are now available at attractive valuations. In banking, you can pick, SBI, HDFC, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank and maybe some good PSU midcap stocks. In petroleum, ONGC and RIL and possibly even Cairn India can be a good pick. Pharma - Sun Pharma, Cipla, Lupin, etc. In IT, Infosys and in power, NTPC. There are also a few good midcaps that you can pick - Gujarat NRE, Punj Lloyd, Balrampur Chini, etc. As and when the market recovers, largecaps will be the first ones to run up. But it is best to do your own research too, before buying anything in the market.
