I don't prefer market linked saving plans because of the risks involved and the transaction charges which are levied. I prefer instead Post Office recurring deposits and Fixed Deposits. It seems low standard but the post office I used when I was in India had savings accounts from the most established business people. I Invested 10,000 in Franklin Templeton M F Growth, It still is nearly 10,200. So After one and a half year my investment is same. Otherwise It would have been 11147 in post office, Which one is better you guess.
