No. Students Unions should not be associated with Political Parties. But student community must understand politics and political parties. Students unions should raise to the level of a vibrant civil society organization and challenge the ugly party politics of today and bring a renaissance in the public life. Students are the most important factors in nation building and development.

No chance in 9 hells.

I was a student union & I can tell u- even though we did things many "officially upright" would consider "sub human culture" or "rowdy rawdy" - one of the main things we did was to bring out the bulls--t of party politics to the people. Esp. the student bodies.

A student union is grass roots democracy & peoples' power. A political party is just degenerate filth. No need to combine the 2. Never.

And at least in my days, nobody even cared 2 s--ts for political parties. We all idolized & associated w/ Che Guevara...

And besides, student unions exist to safeguard the interests of the student body alone. A political party caters to a much more general audience. So, the 2 are structurally & institutionally incompatible.

No,No,No,No,NO. Politics should NEVER enter educational Institutions at all. There should be a resolution passed in the Lok Sabha for this. Let the students be left for the studies.
