The SC upheld d conviction of Santosh Kumar Singh in d 14-yr-old Priyadarshini Mattoo ra*e n mur-der case but reduced d death sentence 2 life imprisonment, saying certain things were in his favour. What a horrible judgment! This judgment will only repeat such gruesome cases. SC seems to have erred in concluding that Priya ra*pe & murder case is not rarest of rare & commuted d death rap to life term. Why doesn't our system understand d sensitivity of such cases? It is high time that d judiciary becomes more practical n earns d faith of victims n their family with outright judgments. Comments
Sometimes i am too astonished about their judgement.even i suffered i lost my case against doctors as sc based judgement on findings of one doctor and hoe she can expect that a doctor will report against fellow.instead a panel of experts should be formed may be my lawyer was bribed.i sent a copy to you as i lefy justice to bagwan ramji.

Sorry to say that I'm outright against death sentence. So many civilised countries have banned it already. Further, I have full faith upon our Hon'ble Judiciary. No doubt some scams have been published as regards them but these are exceptions. I feel let us our Advocates/Barristors etc. be more honest and have sympathy upon the victims so that none stand in favour of the convicted persons to protect them. But that seems also not possible even in the eyes of our own judiciary. If general and ordinary people like us do feel the sensitivity of a case, I do think that our learned and Hon'ble Judges also understand everything but they are bound by laws while giving judgement !! May be the judiciary many times do not comply with our demand but it does not mean that our judiciary is hopeless. I have every sympathy for the victims alike all but in the name of stringent punishment, I can not point at our Judiciary. Let the Police be honest, let the Doctors be honest, let the advocates be honest

This is PRECISELY the reason why ppl favour Jan Adalats over constitutional courts in places they have a choice available in India. In the JA (Jan Adalat) system, the victim gets justice within 5 hours- bullet 2 da head. But constitutional courts are so loophole filled that it amounts to denying victims their well deserved justice.

So if the death sentence is passed in such cases do you welcome it? ..why some people strongly oppose if death penalty is issued to such an offence by Islamic shariah law? why do some people call it "barbarism" when a convicted person in rape case sentence to death by Islamic courts whereas the same people want such judicial action to be taken countries like India? Why there is a hypocrisy? Can you share your views here plz?

Dear SG,
With due respect to your feelings, I find the SC's ruling more fruitful as this bloody culprit would languishing forever for his senseless conduct. Needless to say, out right judgement may give temporary relief to the victims' family but it would soon be forgotten and would hardly impact the mass for such a cause and sensitive issue. In the mean time, the judiciary has to assure the mass that such culprits would never get a reprive or way out in one's life time. Being practical means to kill the menance, never to happen again, which hopefully would deter such acts, which is justified in life terms for such culprits.
Still, if it doesnot quell the menance, instant justice would be too fine, I suppose. What do you say?

This is due to the fact that the decision makers are bribed by lawyers and it has been pointed out last year and the subsequent lawyer had been arrested.

I think our Entire system to be revamped and need stringent measures to safe guard and protect the victims and punish the proven guilty people, irrespective of what so ever may be the case and whom so9 ever it might be!!!

Judicial system of India is showing more humanitarian inclination towards the criminal as compare to victim & his families. western countries as well as several indian self proclaimed human right organizations are also opposing the death sentences.
