The worth of an item is dependent on its utility. Even the most widely used Computer is unworthy for those who are computer illiterate. Thus, i phone performing multi- purpose utilities is worth. Affordability is another matter.

It is not worth the price the manufacturer has fixed because the features it has are also available in other cheaper phones, barring some. Now concerning what is great in i phone I will describe it here:

The 9 cm (3.5 in) liquid crystal display (320480 px at 6.3 px/mm, 160 ppi) HVGA touchscreen with scratch-resistant glass is specifically created for use with a finger, or multiple fingers for multi-touch sensing. Because the screen is a capacitive touchscreen, bare skin is required; a stylus or a normal glove prevents the necessary electrical conductivity.

The iPhone user interface enables the user to move the content itself up or down by a touch-drag motion of the finger.

The iPhone 3G includes A-GPS but also uses cell towers and Wi-Fi for location finding.

Wireless earpieces that use Bluetooth technology to communicate with the iPhone are sold separately. It does not support stereo audio.

The loudspeaker is used both for handsfree operations and media playback, but do ...more

Its worth it for some people but not all. If you are looking for a simple interface that is very easy and intuitive, then you should get it. I personally like everything about it but issue with me is the soft keyboard. I cannot get used to that and do not like it. The new phone has too many dropped calls also. I do not get that with other phones.

So, whats so great about having the internet in your pocket? According to Apple, youll be able to check out the trail runs the next time youre on the ski hill. Instead of flinging snow on the people below you, or taking in the scenery while riding the chair lift, you can stay fixed on your iPhone and miss out on the mountain experience.

It definitely provides multiple services on a single phone which would otherwise required trips tovarious otrhers. To that textent it is certainly an improvement in this services. However, the response to it is not so enthuistixc as the users do not consider ,despite the saving in time and looking for alternatives, this single point service is worth all the money they ask for it. However, as the technilogy improves and looking to the market response the prices are bound to come down sooner than lattter.,
