Maturity from PPf is tax free. You can invest in bank FD & earn a interst of 10.5 to 11% being a sr citizen. The interest income wo'nt be more than Rs 80,000/=. For a sr citizen, this much amount is tax free.

INVEST RS 3 LAKHS IN POMIS; REST MAY BE PUT IN FDs WITH NATIONALISED BANKS FOR SAFETY; SUGGEST TO PUT 2 LAKHS EACH IN SBI / PNB / VIJAYA ETC.
