Q.

"Neither Ms Kiran Bedi nor Mr Kejiriwal behaved in a rational way in the whole proceedings and they are as silly as some in the government like Mr Manish Diwari and Digvijay Singh.Mr Sashi and Prashanth Bhusans, who are responsible for the legal framing of the Jan Lok Pal bill has failed to point out that a constitutional authority to the bill will in fact be a better option. Anna Hazare is no Gandhi and he has many time opted to change his views. The only positive from such fiasco is the agreement to enact a law on corruption and install an agency to look after it. I agree with you.

If at all Mr. Citizen is really interested to eradicate the corruption, start at individul levels and community level and tackle problems at root. It will be much effective and ppl. will be directly benifited.

I believe, students and senior citizens should take active part in local community level and funded by mid-age group who are earning class. All these bills and gangsters go to hellll...

Sadly Manish Tiwari, Chidmabram,Digvijai Singh and other leaders of Congress including MMS and Sonia Gandhi donot support any law that mkay keep a check on scams and corruption. The govt's draft of Lokpal bill excluding all ministers ,MP's ,Senior govt. officers , judiciary from the purview of it was truly called Jokepal bill.As for the suggestion to enact a law on corruption, well don't we already have laws against corruption, but please do tell me in which govt. office can one have his work done without giving a bribe! And we already have seen the govt's version of the Jokepal bill.So the need to form an independant body like Lokpal as suggested by Anna Hazare is the crying need of the hour.

Anna Hazare is not India's second Gandhi and he is not claiming that either. His focus is fighting corruption through enactment of a strong Lokpal. Anna Hazare and Team Anna have done the nation a monumental favour by bringing the subject of rampant corruption to the forefront, and forcing the political system to come to the table to do something about this vital issue. He maintained that the current Bill covering only politicians was inadequate. Thousands of college students, young executives and housewives joined a campaign that asks the government to enact an important new law to fight corruption. This only shows that public from all sectors have same feelings as Anna do.in last para you said that "The only positive from such fiasco is the agreement to enact a law on corruption and install an agency to look after it. But I doubt if the Govt will bend down so easily.

I beg to disagree towards the latter part.. The fiasco, with the media playing along, has created hope in the minds of millions. And the problem is that, after a few months, this hope will give way to disillusionment, despair and total lack of faith in the society we live, which thereby will create more corrupt, more dishonest and more arrogant rulers.

Your observations are personal opinion with which lakhs of people may not be in agreement with. But ultimkately, if Anna movement has resulted in the positive step of government agreeing to pass the bill soon, in the background of ovr 40 years of inaction, it is a laudable effort and must be saluted.

1) Who started the mudslinging first? You know it very well that it was the honorable GOI ministers and not Anna Team members. Today, India has become a laughing stock of the world because of the cheap and silly manners of the GOI cabinet ministers who should have behaved with utmost dignity befitting their chair. Now they are crying foul by sending privilege notices to one and all for calling names. Funny indeed!!
2) Who betrayed the Anna Team and who failed to keep up the promise / commitments made to the Anna Team after inviting them for discussion on a strong Lok Pal? It is your favorite GOI ministers who brought shame to the nation in international arena by betraying their own promises. Promises and commitments are to be kept and not violated. It is the sacred thing in a democracy. If not, such people are called thugs and they are unfit to represent the people in Parliament.
3) The country does not need another Gandhi including the regime. The country belongs to its ordinary p ...more
