Why hutch was given the name vodaphone

Vodafone (British Telecom Company) has acquired Hutch that's why the name has been changed. Earlier Hutch has acquired BPL, they put thier name insteda of BPL. So does the case with Vodafone.

Hutch did not have enough funds left for further expansion, thus they sold their 60% stakes to UK based Giant Vodafone. Vodafone and all other American/ British comapnies generaly wants a presence in the new country under their own brand, thus the branding was re-defined as VODAFONE. I hope this must have given you enough information on the same. Isnt it Shalini?

Hutch left the clutch on the business and Vodafone has taken the right.
Vodafone Essar in India is a subsidiary of Vodafone Group Plc and commenced operations in 1994 when its predecessor Hutchison Telecom acquired the cellular licence for Mumbai. Vodafone Essar now has operations in 16 circles covering 86% of India's mobile customer base, with over 41.1 million customers*.
