Vodafone is a UK based company. Hutch is the JV between Hutchison and Essar. Now the share of Hutch is bought by Vodafone for around $19B. So now Vodafone became the majority stakeholder in the company. Hutchison sold all there stake in the company to Vodafone and they are exiting the business in India. So now As a majority stake holder, Vodafone is changing the name from Hutch to Vodafone.
