Lantern fish has ability to produce light. It scientific names is Symbolophorus barnardi which indicates its light producing nature. It is a deep-water fish. The light comes due to the photophores which are located on the fish's head, underside, and tail. This light is used to attract other small fish on which the lanternfish feeds, it is also used to attract other lanternfish for mating.
