The credit goes to the King Mansingh who was interested in astronomy. He erected facilities inRajsthan and even in Delhi to observe the movements of the stars and planets and maintain records. However, the study of astronomy is an ancient study in India. Bhaskarcharya,Varah Mihir are well known names inthis regard. In fact,Bhaskarya\'s observationof the moments of the starts was so accurate that in his Leelavati he had propounded thetheory that it is the Eatth rhat revolves round the Sun and not Vice versaaa.(See the portion \'Prithivya niralambatwan ,golatwan cga in it.)
