Cold war was not a fiction but a reality. It was a war between two titans with ideological differences to prove their supremacy When ever their has been emergence to two religious forces there is bound to be clashes whose effect is felt world wide. The root of all clashes are religion which subsequently takes a political .hue. The emergence of an atheist communist state of USSR had sent ripples of tremor in the Christian world which resulted in Christian nation ganging up against the Atheist nations. Atheist nation when they could not withstand the onslaught tried to rope in the Islamic nations into its side. However as the Islamic nations proved a fence sitter, the Atheist nations lost out the Cold war. However the Christian nation after having defeated the Atheist with the Unification of Germany and splitting of USSR diverted the attention on those Islamic who had sided with USSR either directly or indirectrly. Yes , that is truth ,both are imperialist camps though both mat had suspicions and fear of each other
if they were enemies why did not they fight directly ???

No maam, imperialism. Russia invaded hungary, then Afghanistan, then to support USA had to interven ofcousrce evry helper searchs benifits..
NOW ALLIES from very begining of 1st world war and second world war , allies system was in process as before first Britain and france occupied many territories. (France most part of Africa.so to protect many countries got into Allies system. the treaty of Varselies was a burden to Germany. and so on....
