There are many saints born in Maharasthra like Swami Ramdas, Gyaneshwar, Sant Tukaram who have given us the beautiful abhangas. In Tamil, the famous poet called Bharathiar once said, " In Kavita , no one is equal to Maharashtra, he said " singha marathiar tham kavitahi kondu " means, They are lion in poetry and kavi " then what else you are asking dear. The language itself is enriched and there are many poets, prose writers etc born in this holy land. You have a great Pandarpur where the Lord Vithal resides, Ashta Vinayak Temples, the Great Shivaji born over here. Lokmanya Tilak , the person once said " Swaraj is my birth right and i shall have it " born here and organised the Great Ganesh mahatsav in Maharashtra to unite the whole India. the Two Little genius, Sunil Gavaskar and the one who broke the world record of m ...more

U can have ur unique qualities and culture, and yet be part of india and the world. There is no need for exhibitive outward indentity show. Live and let live.. is the way. Nobody has a right to enforce a particular culture on anybody in any part of the country, because we have chosen to exist as single country !

The day the politicians divided the state according to linguistic states , the national unity was diluted. the politicians frequently add fuel to fire by provoking this feelings for furthering their own causes . if one wants one more such division , he has a right to make a claim , why not ?

Alternate way can be thinking of oneself as an indian and avoiding these regional clashes..................such things r only done by local parties to gain popularity and fetch votes......better stay united as a nation instead of getting divided n broken!

Maharashtrians have separate identity and their language, literature, etc., are good.
Lord Ganesha became popular only due to them. But they cannot hurt others who stay in their State. Indians can live anywhere in India.
