I remember the last two times protests were held in the capital and the results. The first one was by students against the implementation of the Mandal Commission's report for reservations for OBCs. One youth even tried self immolation. But the end result was the law was passed and we became a more fractured society, which is being exploited unashamedly all political parties for vote bank politics. The next was the Anna Hazare agitation for passing of the Lokpal Bill. Second winter session has gone by and the govt will try to pass it by removing many recommendation by the standing committee of the parliament and no knows when. Some people take pride that ours is a largest democracy. Others say it has been reduced to a joke. At least I can tolerate a joke, but by resorting to extreme measures like lathi charge, tear gas, water canons, section one forty four, on protestors mostly students the govt has proved that it is totally insensitive to the people's demands and still calls itself a
