Dear Priyaji, If you are planning to go to Darjeeling where I have been for 3 times is pl go to Sealdah (a railway stop near howrah) take a train from der which is called Kamrup Express but buk well in advance as there are ery many crooks who will fasav u so go there if your seats are bukd. It leaves in eve at around 5.30pm and get down at Siliguri railway stn. From der u take a cab all for yourself and dont share with anyone as you cannot trust anyone. Ask him to take you to Darjeeling. Its a 7 hour journey down the hill. If you want to enjoy toy train then take but it takes 12 hourse to go up becoz as the fog will be der, toy train will stop and it may take then 18 hrs also. So avoid and go by cab. At darjeeling the best hotel at mall is "Hotel Alice Villa" which is d best and cheapest. Take my name, I was famous der as I use to go to their hotel, now the management may have changed but still d hotel is the best with location. Al d best. regards Cyrus

BY AIR....
The nearest airport is Bagdogra, 90 kms away from Darjeeling
Bagdogra is connected by Indian Airlines and some private airlines from Delhi, Calcutta
BY RAIL....
The most convenient railhead is New Jalpaiguri, 8 kms away from Bagdogra airport and it is connected by several fast and superfast trains linking New Jalpaiguri to Delhi, Patna and Calcutta
BY ROAD is not suggested
