PPM means one part of solute in million parts of the solution. 1 gm of solute (NaCl) present in 1 million gms of its water solution will give you i ppm solution. What you can do is accurately weigh 0.1 g of NaCl and dissolve it in 99 gm water. This is 1 in thousand solution. Take one ml of this and dilute to 1L with water, it becomes i in 1000,000 (or 1 ppm). Go ahead.
