It is heard that now even the American flag is manufactured in China. If so what is the message it conveys?

China provides the US with cheap consumer products. Everything for clothing, small appliances, electronics, furniture and generic drugs are manufactured in China and sold in the US. Items are made in China at lower costs which allow them to be sold in the US at a lower price than American made goods. Lower costs are associated with lower operating expenses such as cheap labor, unsafe working conditions, no product safety inspections and no government oversight.
One of the most sacred US symbols is the American flag. Old Glory represents the freedoms of life and liberty that every person is entitled. In 2003, nearly all US flags sold around the world were made in China. The Chinese jumped quickly on the post 9-11 patriotic band wagon and began flooding the US market with Chinese made American flags. Whatelse can be a better example for the concept of globalization or liberalisation of economy? The Americans, the rich industrialised European countries as well as the giants of Asian economy like Japan, have learned that liberalisation or opening up of economy means not just an opportunity to flood the markets of other countries, both developed and poor, with manufactured goods, useful and useless, but it also involves the flight of jobs to countries where labour is cheaper. It is ironical to watch US which clamoured for liberalisation of economy of other countries trying to construct fences to safeguard American jobs going to other countries !!

I think they have passed laws that make it illegal to sell American flags that were not made in the United States. Sounds weird but China is known for exporting potentially toxic stuff, still its capturing the market all over...
