Indian military history also boasts of a fair share of women soldiers, Razia Sultan and the Rani of Jhansi being the most famous. The Rani of Jhansi Regiment of Subhash Chandra Bose's Indian National Army consisted entirely of women including Captain Lakshmi Sahgal. The young women in Indian army are spirited, dynamic, courageous and undeterred. Besides flying fighter jets, pulling the trigger as and when required, fighting with the foes single handedly, the women in the Indian army are often part of the medical teams too. The names of captain Manul singh, Lieutenant Ramandeepsingh further adds to the glory of Indian army in recognising the potency and caliber of Indian women. Post independence, women have for long been serving the Indian Army in the Army Medical Corps, Army Dental Corps and Military Nursing Service.
