There are medical reasons for a particular kind of delivery... While a normal vaginal delivery (NVD) is always the preferred one; obstetrician may advise one to opt for a caeserian section (LSCS) ... and there a number of reasons for it, like a previous C-section, small pelvis and difficulty for the baby to get through, compressed umbilical cord, placenta previa, baby in breech position (sorry if using too many medical terms), fetal distress (lack of sufficient supply of oxygen to the baby), multiple births, etc.. or any kind of health problem either to the mother or to the baby... These days a number of women opt for a ceaserian delivery.

Coming back to the question, there are some factors (like a previous ceaserean, or a preferred choice) that can help you decide beforehand of the kind of delivery you want.... however, many a times, these are end minute decisions only if a normal vaginal delivery is getting difficult and there is a danger either to the health of the mother or ...more

Al healthyand active female should be able to bear a child normally.
The trend for C section is mostly a trend among the rich, who do not wish to bear labour pains
The poor do not have any choice, so the Bai in our house will go through a normal delivery. Bearing labour pains effortlessly.
