Akbar had many wives (the exact number is known); some of them were Rajput princesses as well. But he had four queens (who were his wives as well as women with political clout). Akbars first queen was Ruqaiyya Begum, who was unable to bear him a child. His second wife was Salima Sultan, the wife of his uncle and loyal general Bairam Khan. Hira Kunwari(better known as Jodhaa) was his third wife and queen. Hira Kunwari was also the most beloved wife of Akbar. Sakinah Banu Begum was Akbars fourth queen.
