According to Hindu Dharma, there are sixteen rituals / celebrations (Solah sanskar) that has to be performed. In Uttaranchal, where vedic rituals are carried out with great devotion, these solah sanskaras are practiced as per Das karma Padhyati.

These Shodas Sanskaras as they are called in Sanskrit, are as follows
