These kind of stunts have been seen in the past and when Shahid Kapoor and Kareena broke up just before their movie Jab We Met was to release, everyone thought this too was a stunt. But apparently it wasn't but the pubilcity their break-up received translated into box-office success for the film's producer.

Well, it depends. People assumed that the break-up episode of Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur was a publicity stunt for the movie Jab We Met. Though it was one of the reasons for crowd to come to the theatres, it was not a publicity stunt. Similarly news about Kangana Ranaut being beaten up by Aditya Panscholi starting floating around prior to the release of Who Lamhe. Both of them spoke up, denied, spoke up again and confused the media. The news died a natural death after the movie was released. It does not mean to imply that they had actually did a publicity stunt but one cannot deny the fact that rumors do start springing up about stars prior to the release of the movie.

Yes, indeed it is. If the media stop paying attention to the personal lives of these celebrities then all these nonsense will stop.
