Like most human beings, I also like music. Since I have no knowledge of classical music and don't like to waste time in hair splittings and technical errors, I like classical fusion. I liked Thaye yashoda in the Morning Raga. Similarly, there are some instrumental and vocal (mostly film songs) based on indian (both south and north) classical music. They are soothing. I would like to like Carnatic music. But they say we require knowledge and go through some rigormorole such as raagam, Talam, pallvali etc (Sorry, it is Pallavi. I have wrongly written as Pallvali which means Toothache).
Without declaring genre, I like what I like. At many times I like what others don't seem to like. Generally, I like the female voices of accomplished South Indian classicals. Not male voices.

Classical's intent is of producing something which will speak directly to many for several generations and I love this concept. A vocalist with a microphone is automatically dismissed as not a professional classical singer, with only a few exceptions in the most contemporary of classical music. Classical, much of it not at all about or from the voice, is a dialogue of notes, usually unfolding over a longer time than a brief song. An apt analogy might be the difference between a very short story and a much longer and more involved novel...As music is divine, I love listening to music of any genre...!
