Government is getting Commonwealth games on grounds like economic strength, organizational capabilities but not for sporting standards. Look at South Korea or Japan who organized World Cup football in 2002 or South Africa this year. Where they stand as football nation in the FIFA list? But they got Games. So also, India get CWG. Your sporting abilities will not be tested through awarding the games. If without spending on sports CW games comes, where is the necessity of uplifting the sports? If somehow a champion emerges from the country, he will get an award, a citation, a plot of land or a group - D job. Responsibility over.
