Well, this issue has started a kind of a conflict between Petroleum Minister Murli Deora and Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel. After Jet Airways laid off its employees, Patel had felt that the concerned ministries should lower the tax rates and jet fuel prices. But this had not gone down well with Deora who said that the had done the most it could in the past by getting Indian Oil to consider the amount it owed Jet Airways and that Jet owed them a huge amount. I cannot see the Govt being able to do much in this regard.
