Leave your personal interest for the sake of family interest
...................................
Leave the family interest for the sake of state's (nation's) interest.
In between, one can add caste, village, Panchayat, District etc. for specific situations.
But, if you have a mind to understand what family and society given to you, you will naturally realise what you owe them and what is your responsibility towards them.
And for whatever we have now, we owe to those who don't have it and for those who are yet to have it. So spend/consume anything from time to free air judiciously.

Very difficult to answer it straight. Responsibility is response to our ability and ability comes when we come out of dependence style and become independent to enjoy our freedom. .. obviously essential to freedom is responsibility. I may be bit selfish in telling that my duty or responsibility , whatever you call , which becomes a desire and ultimately become a delight to myself by my little intellect and wits , guides me to excel in adding some values to my family and society .I cant quantify it as good , better, best or most important but I love and enjoy , what I am doing. And I can boost a little that my near and dear ones in family and society are mostly smiley with my little deliverables
