Varies from person to person. Anywere between 5-8 hours for a normal person. Sick and babies sleep more. Teenagers also need more sleep.

Sir, i think for adult i.e, (16 to 25 age) 6 hours is must & for old puple's 8 to 9 hours & and more important for newly born baby upto 6 month 16 to 20 hour's sleep is always required
