When ya have a population of billions the value of human LIFE is zilch. Thats why we see never ending cycles of lives being lost not just in such accidents but even in daily simple issues like traffic accidents. Yup Indians may feel aghast that an MNC company has got away with murder but then the important issue is not that its an MNC or that such huge lives have been lost. The important fact is that security and value of LIFE is non existent in a county called India. Even a basic thing like driving a vehicle safely and securley is like anthema to Indians. They just dont wanna observe rules and just wanna pass the buck elsewhere. The anguish of Indians is but natural, but if we are grumbling over the Quantum of Punishment awarded to the 8 accused, then our complaints are misplaced for the reason, the verdict was a foregone conclusion since 1996 when Supreme Court changed the chargesheet from Section 304 (II) (10 years punishment) to section 304 A which carries a maximum punishment of 2 years only which the Magistrate has awarded to the Maximum. The main frustration for me is the exclusion of Warren Anderson allowing him to go Scot Free. It was elements in MEA which manipulated the CBI to give safe passage to Anderson by diluting the case in his favour. There is no use blaming the Magistrate. Go after the then Investigating Officer who as everywhere was responsible to kill the evidence to such extent that no case was possible against Anderson.

I was to ask the same question, yes it is a great pity indeed after 26 years of waiting , the justice has been denayed to the people. It is some what lenient justice given by the High Court. I always use to say or think Justice is delayed is justice denayed. It is happening in this case as well as in other cases also. It is a great pity indeed that Indian government is too lethargetic or they do not want to give anything for the people. it is just talk and nothing else. It is out of fear or any other reason no one knows but on the whole the justice has been denayed to the people of the victims of Bhopal Gas tragedy. Government, CBI and other related people are to be blamed for this debacle. Government is too weak to take strong measures for the criminals who have engaged themselves in such a pathetic,shocking,everlasting effects on victims. The Indian govt., it is obvious , is in no state to pursue this daylight murder by an American MNC to its logical conclusion even when the evidence is crystal-clear and damning enough to condemn Warren Anderson and his cohorts. Our own govt. and bureaucrats, as it now becomes clear every hour, have had no less a role to play in this tragic saga. Indian govt doesn't fear Americans but is just a big time keep to whichever party wields MONEY POWER and / or INFLUENCE POWER. Look at the VVIP treatment criminals like Yaseen Malik and Geelani r getting in India. They even get commandos to protect them. Yet look at the amount of people that were slain- especially civilians- due to the separatist nonsensical agenda of ppl like Malik and Geelani. Yet both of them have influence power so govt of India goes after them.

Same w/ Bhopal. In the eyes of the Indian Govt, it was weighing out the interests of a group of people who r too poor 2 pay tax, and another group of people- who bring in the chunky FDI. When both the interests clashed, India meekly chose to follow the latter.
