I had been to Jaisalmer a few years ago. The major attraction is the sunset view from the sand dunes which you traverse on a camel, which in itself is a unique experience. There is also a lake with boating facility but please check (before you plan the trip) whether the lake has water during the season you intend to visit. There are a few forts, a museum, a handicraft exhibition too.
One thing I found after settling down at the sand dunes was that the local children ask you for - guess what - ballpoint refills! It seems that these are scarce there. So if you are of a charitable disposition, please carry a few refills for the school children who swarm around you after you get off the camel. (This was my experience a few years ago - the situation might have changed now. You could check with a few other people too.)
I would surely recommend a trip to Jaisalmer.
