Olden movies had no technology hence they spent lotsa work on the script and emotions to make the film complete.
Today we have vfx and what nots.... things that make a film super-advanced and fast.... and in this speed, the beauty is inevitably lost.
You cant enjoy scenery or smell roses from a fast moving car, can you?
But yes, if what u r looking for is thrill and edge of the seat action, then the movies of today are for you. That's it.

still good movies are being made.
nowadays the theme of entertainment has been changed and movies are not treated properly.this is bcoz of the viewers.
