I can relate myself as a very modest leather products biz-man. When I outsource any process, there is most certainly a dip in quality and it is visible. Even a layman can make out the differences between a product which we ourselves directed and a product which was outsourced.

And I am only outsourcing in my own town!!! Imagine doing the same across thousands of miles.....

When u outsource, u r relaying your job to people who fall outside u r business interests. U have orders and the cash. They have the machines and the labour. So in such a setup, jobwork units mostly subscribe to a minimalist mindset where their goal is just to complete the said task, get a "pass" approval and get paid. A jobwork unit doesn't have a company's core interest such as name in the market etc because a jobwork unit is not restricted to a single supply source alone.

A company cannot regulate quality in jobwork units or in outsourced concerns as they can in their own product ...more
