The Laser Printer uses a LASER and a special type of ink known as the Toner ink. The paper has a laser shine onto it which gives the paper a positive charge and the toner ink has a negative charge. Using highly specific lasers and mirror systems the image is projected onto the paper and the toner sticks to the charged image on the paper. The stray static charge on the paper is discharged as it comes out of the printer. In case of an inkjet printer the cartridge is in a movable system which interprets the image digitally and moves the cartridge over the paper accordingly and the image is produced by shooting out a stream of ink onto the paper. As you can guess, while the Laser printer is expensive, it is more efficient and can generate excellent quality prints at a minimum rate of 8ppm(pages per minute) and each toner cartridge can last for about 2000pages. The effective cost encountered for each page is 10ps. while in case of an inkjet printer we get about 500pages for the black cartri
