So far she could not do anything remarkable for her state except changing the name. For the second part of the question, my answer is NO.

Mamta still appear to think that she is in the opposition. It seems she has forgotten that she is the government. So far, according to my knowledge, she has not done anything fruitful to the state although she is a partner of UPA. I don't think any reasonable person would support her actions with regard to Railway budget and English Newspaper. But those can be excused as whimsical had she got a planning revealed for the betterment of the state and India.

Her behavior in regards to railway budget was ridiculous and I don't think it was right. As for newspaper in state run libraries I was quite surprised that the libraries are spending money to buy newspapers., Ideally state run libraries are non profit making bodies, the newspaper publishers should be distributing the newspaper free of cost to public libraries. They do so to rich people who can afford to buy newspapers like Advertisers, Senior executives in Ad agency, politicians, in airports and others places as a part f their promotion activity.. So there is no reason why newspapers as a policy, is not distributed free of cost to public libraries, old are homes etc. I am not sure if the libraries were getting the paper free. If they were getting it free then it is ridiculous on Mamta's part to stop those newspapers, however if they were not getting it free then it is ridiculous on the part of the business houses owning the newspaper to charge for the papers distributed to public l ...more
