Uncle SAM will not unnecessarily compliment anybody if there is no catch. Business is very much down in U.S.A. Both economy & employments are not picking up despite best efforts and stimulus packages. Of late, Europe is also on the decline. China is stonewalling all efforts to open up its huge domestic market for American products. It just wants to sell and sell only and does not believes in buying and bridging the trade gap with Uncle SAM. Middle East has its own problem of lesser oil price and fewer petro dollars in pocket. U.A.E. struggles to come out of debt crisis. Africa and Latin America are still poor. That leaves the haven for dishonest people who have stashed away trillions of dollars in tax havens all over the world. India still has billions of dollars in its kitty and also there is a huge market of 500 millions of middle income Indians who are crazy for anything and everything foreign. If Americans are willing to sell, then why hesitate to buy. The process has already star ...more

A rising India cannot be good for the United States because then we'll start competing w/ them for global sphere of influence. We won't be thinking of doing biz with the US rather we will be trying to attract more raw material rich countries to transact w/ us for their finished goods. So her assessment that a rising India's good 4 the US is hogwash.

And is it good for the world? Sure, why should that poor Nigerian dictator only choose between US and China when he can have a third option available in form of India?

But the thing is Hillary knows, and we know too- that our policy centers around being a junior partner for the US rather than aspiring 2 b US' equal partner come competitor in world affairs.

She should've said "WE believe that a rising India under US senior partnership is good for the US and an independent rising India is good 4 the rest of the world."
