The term "Media" is not journalism.. Journalists are different and Media personnel are different.. Journalism is a profession and Media is business. Journalist use Medium to reach the people.

The privitaisation of Media has opened enromous opportunities of employment. Journalism has taken a high tech profession, where technical aspects such as presentation, appearnace etc are given more importance, resulting the basics of Journalism is eroding.. e.g. a Political Journalist should have a thorough knowledge of Social Science.. and should be enough evaluative.. But present journalism are less analytical and rather discussion based. So, the quality of Journalism has detoriated.

When the detoriation in Journalism has then the celebrities are created such as Barkha Dutt, Prabhu Chawla..

If we curtail the privatisation of New Channels or a strick governance system in the Political Media.. we would expect a better performance.

Journalism is Not Presentation.. but Knowledge bas ...more

They are hand in fist with political parties, some new's channels' HELL BENT ON SHOWING PAKISTAN is A TERRORIST COUNTRY are financed by a certain party, i've know how reporter's accept bribe to keep mum on certain issue, or certain NEWS PAPER'S will escalate an issue, and all of a sudden it's NOWHERE in sight ? Whether the media is PATHETIC or not can be know from the 26/11 reporting itself, one use the word COLLATERAL DAMAGE - and soon you could find this word being reapeated on every other channel :) simple when they too are CUT COPY PASTE what INTEGRITY in reporting do you expect ?

Many Media personalities have sold their souls and brains to their masters ( congress). The leaked tapes clearly show these. Just check this to know yourself..or check google yourself..

Media owners too have their allegiances to this party or that. That's is the big tragedy of Indian Media. I think NDTV 24X7 with Barkha Dutt (not Burka dutt), is the only impartial TV channel and their reportage is worth paying attention to. Recent revelations that BJP regime in their time, are equally involved in the allocation / auction of the spectrum scam. Ratan Tata has even said clearly that BJP is responsible for the loss to the exchequer to the tune of Rs. 50000 crore. See which channel shows it and with what intencity.

It is a sad commentary that these days corruption has penetrated into all walks and profession of our life, including armed forces, judiciary and media.
