By giving a simple letter requesting the branch Manager where the account is maintained to transfer the account. The letter may be given to either the branch where your account is maintained or at the branch where you want the account to be transferred.

Open a new account and then do net banking.. its easier and simple.. only drawback,, u hav to keep minimum of 5 k in both accounts,, tahst all

Better close the account and open a new account at the new place.The transfer may take time.

SBI, I believe is quite advanced in terms of networking of their branches under the Core Banking System.

It can be done by either of your Branches - the by the existing or by the new Branches.

However, they may have their own internal policies with regard to handling such requests. It is advisable therefore, to approach your existing Branch and understand the procedure.

You may have to provide a fresh set of KYC documents (as mandated by RBI) - particularly your address proof of the new place.

No need to do that all branches are connected electronically thru computer. u can do banking from abt branch in india without changing your account openming branch

Now you can do it easily as any account can be transferred without no. change.Contact bank branch
