It can be done easily. Ask your SBI branch to do it.

There is a form available at the branch Just fill it in, attach the first page of your passbook and surrender the unused cheque leaves either at the branch where u r holding the account or where you want it tfd (if you have already moved). The Branch will take care of the rest. If requested by the transferee branch, the transferor branch can immediately do it and then you can submit your residential proof at the new branch for issue of cheque book, etc.

It costs nothing. Simply talk to the BM of the branch U R holding the account.

Very simple and quick procedure. open a fresh account in the branch you like and then apply to the present branch to transfer all balance to new account/new branch and closed the present account. this is the fastest and the easiest way.
nothing is done in India in a jiffy as one another member has commented

Give ur pass book and cheque book with an application written to the branch whose a/c u want to close like the manager so and so branch and then through the manager the new branch whee u want to transfer the a/c and surrender them to the new branch manager they will get it done .

Mr. Kushwaha has correctly answered this question.You just apply to the Branch where you are holding the account and tell them where you want to transfer it and it is done in a jiffy.
